The GTMA is an applied research group, whose mission is the application of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) to biomedical research, education and practice. It is part of the University Institute for Biomedical and Health Research (IUBS) at the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (ULPGC). Moreover, GTMA provides technological support to IUIBS.
GTMA is formed by a multisciplinary team, where researchers from the different branches of engineering, medicine and basic sciences collaborate to address effectively its mission. In addition, the GTMA collaborates with many groups, centers and institutes, both at ULPGC and at other Spanish and international universities and research centers. Technology transfer to the society and enterprises is carefully tackled, in order to contribute to new solutions, business opportunities and public service.
The GTMA consists of an area of research and technology development, and another of audiovisual and multimedia production.
