Miguel Angel Rodriguez-Florido

PhD, Research Fellow

I have a Degree in Physics and a PhD in Telecommunications Technology. I have experience on researching in medical technology, from computer-based applications to tech clinical trials, developing and using of applications for assisting virtual planning and simulation, innovation for education in health with technology and developing medical area apps.

I’ve been affiliated to the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (ULPGC) in several positions, from a PhD aspirant, where I collaborated as a researcher at the Surgical Planning Lab (Harvard University), to the responsible of the technological activities of the Chair of Medical Technology at this University (ctm.ulpgc.es).

Also, I’ve been working at the Canary Islands Institute of Technology (ITC), joined to the Department of Computer Engineering, I’ve been a collaborator of Fundación Canaria Ágora (www.fundacionagora.com), and I’ve been the project manager of MOTIVA (https://www.motivando.me) and the responsible of the Laboratory of Technology for Education in Health at the Teaching Hospital Insular and for Children of the Canary Island Service of Health.

In my professional life, I’ve been involved in many Spanish Government’s projects, the European Network of Excellence SIMILAR, and in several innovation and technological projects in health.
